We braved the elements to see you!

Who said we can only have a picnic on a sunny day? Certainly not us. On September 28th, we
braved the elements to see you, and boy it was worth it.

I woke up that Saturday wondering if the picnic we previously planned would still happen. I glanced at my window and the gray clouds dispersed on the somber sky on this late autumn day clearly showed it would rain all day. I texted some members of the board and we still agreed to meet.

I arrived in downtown New York and headed to the appointed meeting location (Great Hill at Central Park). The walk was short but I enjoyed every bit of it. The quiet dripping of the raindrops around me, the crackling sound of the leaves shaken by the light wind, the cooling breeze washing away my worries. I found myself contemplating how often I took the time to enjoy those little moments of serenity and quietly enjoyed the scenery around me.

I waited a couple of minutes and other members of the INET-NYC community (www.inetnyc.com) joined our party. We headed to Park Cafe (near the north western edge of Central Park) and spent the rest of the afternoon sharing laughter and stories over Turkish coffee and baklava!
